How to Respond to an Abusive Incident |

Session duration: Five hours
By the end of the session learners will be able to:
- Enable someone to tell you that abuse has occurred
- Understand the issues of confidentiality and consent
- Understand the stress / risk factors in relationships and / or in environments
- Deal with disclosure and immediate incidents
- Look after the vulnerable adult and assure their safety
- Preserve evidence and to write a report of the incident
- Have protection under the “Public Interest Disclosure Act”
- Have an awareness of what happens after reporting adult abuse
- Have an understanding of how staff / carers can prevent abuse.
